What is food to me? I avoided writing this “about me” portion of the blog until the very end. I even thought about leaving it out, because food to me isn’t something that I can easily put into a paragraph. I have always, always struggled with what to put into my mouth and how to feel about it. As I’ve learned more and more about myself, about food, and finally in making the shift to Paleo, how I feel about food has gotten a little simpler. In case you need the lowdown, Paleo is a lifestyle – I hate the word diet – that is no to grains, legumes, dairy, but a big old yes to meat, fish, eggs, veggies, fruit, nuts, fat: essentially, a whole lot of awesome. To me food is about bringing joy – to your mind, to your body, to your friends. It always invites a conversation, be it within your own head or around a table. The goal is to make that convo a positive one. To love what you eat and to love how what you eat makes you feel: fueled, powerful, clean, and like a freaking superstar in and out of the kitchen. Seek out food that makes you feel invincible.
